importantInformation Sites are generally first-come, first-served in April, May, September and October. Call the park to verify if reservation period has begun or ended. Advanced reservations are required during the reservation period. Discount cards must be presented upon check-in in order for fee discounts to apply. Site reservations may not be transferred to other persons or camping units. Site holder must occupy their campsite each night throughout the reservation period. Alcohol permitted in moderation. Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
nearbyAttrctionDescription Campers can take day trips to the Lincoln Caverns, Altoona Railroaders Museum, Swigart Antique Car Museum, or other nearby attractions. Visit www.raystown.org for local attractions and activities. The nearby city of Huntingdon, 11 miles north, is a good place to stop for restaurants, shopping and theaters.

orientationDescription Raystown Lake is in the ridge and valley providence of Pennsylvania. The lakeshore is lined with an old oak-hickory forest giving way to mountain ridges and cliffs. The man-made lake is fed by the Raystown Branch tributary of the Juniata River and is the largest lake completely in the state of Pennsylvania. Recreation season temperatures range from the 60s to 90s, with three to four inches of rain per month. The nights are cool and the are days pleasant through spring and fall.
recreationDescription Fishing is excellent with muskies, small and large mouth bass and brown trout, abundant in the lake. Kids will enjoy activities at the amphitheater including Critter Night and Hartslog Day, a one-day annual heritage event celebrated in October. Nearby trails, including Lower Trail (Rails to Trails), Terrace Mountain Trail, Old Loggers Trail and Mid State Trail, attract plenty of traffic.
